About Mr. Dele Farotimi

Mr. Dele Farotimi is a prominent Nigerian lawyer, author, and political activist known for his advocacy for justice, good governance, and systemic reforms in Nigeria. He was born on April 27, 1968, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Farotimi earned a Law degree (LLB) from Lagos State University (LASU). During his time at LASU, he served as President of the Students' Union from 1994 to 1995.

He was called to the Nigerian bar in 1999. He began his legal career at Adesina Ogunlana & Co, focusing on legal advocacy and human rights, and later founded his own firm, DF Legal, in 2002. He retired from active law practice in 2018 at the age of 50.

As an author, Farotimi has published several books, including Do Not Die in Their War (2021) and Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System (2024). His writings critically examine Nigeria's political structure, corruption, and societal challenges. Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System gained significant attention, becoming a number one bestseller worldwide in its category on Amazon.

Farotimi is also a political activist and a member of the Citizens' Rally Against Oppression. He served as the official spokesman for Peter Obi's presidential campaign in 2022, supporting the Labour Party in the 2023 elections.
